Well, the day has finally arrived where I change out of my pajamas and into real clothes. No more jogging pants for me! (well, except until about five seconds after I walk through the door at the end of the day....).
It seems quite surreal to say that I'm a working mom, but here we are! The timing couldn't have been more perfect - my last MBA class was on Saturday February 15 and then I began work the following Monday! In hindsight, it would have been nice to perhaps give myself a few more days off in between, but they wanted me to start as soon as possible.
I have lots of feelings about starting work. With the completion of my MBA, I truly believe that staying at home full-time after being done school would have made me go crazy. However, I miss the kids. And although it doesn't appear that they miss me very much (true story, actually), I know that Andrew is taking very good care of them, picking them up from school every night and getting their evenings prepared.
As I have only finished my first week of work, I believe the schedule will get more balanced and Andrew and I can figure out a schedule that works for both of us. That being said, he has done a great job being "a single dad" this past week as I worked an intense amount of hours.
Overall, the job is really great and the working environment is very inspiring. I have been welcomed into the office with open arms and it's a really wonderful group of people. I believe I will learn a lot, but also I will be able to teach and inspire as well, and jointly we can create something great.
With that, I say good night. Gotta get to the office tomorrow :)
Kim
