Boston was a fantastic experience, but it really is nice to be back in Finland. I have to admit it really felt like we were coming home. Despite some "minor" setbacks with the weather and the dog and Delta Airlines (not even gonna get into it.....), we arrived back in Finland on June 4th.
Very happy to report that our subletters were amazing and left the house spotless. I am amazed at how perfectly that situation worked out for us. It was fate for sure.
The kids did remarkably well with the time change and only took a few days to get back on track. It doesn't help that it's June and is already light out by 3am, poor Charlie was stuck sleeping in our walk-in closet until I found a suitable set of blackout curtains!!! Ha ha.
Maddy was thrilled to be back at school. Her first day she woke up at like 4 or 5am completely excited to head to school. She was positively beaming. The teachers and kids at school had made her a welcome back banner, which she adored. She was definitely missed there, and I was very pleased to see how much attention and encouragement they showed to Maddy upon her return.
Despite having to unpack all of our stuff from Boston AND the entire rest of the apartment that was put into storage, it is nice to be home.
